Jiandao Agreement

...Mild grains and paddy rice were cultivated, and soybeans were especially produced in the northern part of Jiandao. Historically, the border issue between China and North Korea was unresolved, but Japan, which had deprived Korea of ​​its diplomatic rights, settled the issue in the Jiandao Treaty of 1909 in exchange for the right to lay the Anfong Line. Jiandao became Chinese territory thereafter, and, coupled with its proximity to the Siberian Primorsky Krai, it became one of the focal points of international conflict in the Far East. Especially around the time of the Manchurian Incident, Korean immigrants experienced complex hardships, caught between Japanese aggression and the opposition of the Chinese authorities (for example, the Manbaoshan Incident).
