Kantoin Temple

...Located in the southeastern part of the Kazo lowlands, it consists of the natural levees of the Old Tone River, back marshes, and a buried loam plateau. In the early 16th century, Koga kubo Ashikaga Masauji retired here, and the famous Rinzai sect temple, Kanto-in, was built on the site of his mansion. During the Edo period, it was a market town, and the market on March 8th was a bustling trade in white cotton and grains.
