The Eighteen Tombs of Guanzhong

...The large mound in the east of Guanzhuang village, Mengjin County, Henan Province, 15 km northwest of the old city of Luoyang, is identified with this tomb, and the subsequent Jingling Mausoleum of Emperor Xuanwu is thought to be the large eastern mound in Tsukatou village, and the quiet tomb of Emperor Xiaozhuang is thought to be the southern large tomb in Shangqing village.

All 18 of the Tang Dynasty's imperial tombs, except for the last one, the Zhaozong He Mausoleum, are located north of the Wei River and are known as the Eighteen Tombs of Guanzhong. The Xianling Mausoleum of the first emperor, Gaozu, was built on flat ground and is a square pyramid shape measuring about 15m in height and 100m on each side, but Taizong's Zhaoling Mausoleum was not built on a burial mound but was dug as a burial pit on the mountainside of Mount Jiujie, making it a mountaintop tomb and establishing it as the imperial tomb of the Tang Dynasty.
