Born in Tenmei 2. The eldest son of Kishi Ganku. He learned from his father and became the second generation of the Kishi school. In Bunka 6 (1809), he followed his father in painting the partitions inside Kanazawa Castle. During the Ansei era, he participated in the production of partitions for the construction of the Imperial Palace. He excelled in painting birds and animals, especially tigers. He passed away on February 19, Genji 2. He was 84 years old. His surname was Kishi. His first name was Kokusho. His pen name was Kiminchin. His other names included Takudo and Kodai.
