Kanda Hakuryuuko
1680-1760 A lecturer in the mid-Edo period.
Born in the 8th year of the Enpo era. He was of a samurai family and studied the Kusunoki school of military tactics. He was popular with feudal lords and vassals of the Shogun, and gave lectures on military science and military books. He also became a master appraiser of swords. He passed away on July 22nd, 10th year of the Horeki era. He was 81 years old. He was from Edo. His given name was Katsuhisa. His pen name was Ridō. He was commonly known as Moku. His other pen name was Kobudō. His works include "Wakan Samurai Names" and "Aramimei Zukushi".

延宝8年生まれ。武家の出で,楠流の兵法をまなぶ。大名や旗本にまねかれ,軍学を講じ,軍書を講釈した。刀剣の鑑定にも一家をなした。宝暦10年7月22日死去。81歳。江戸出身。名は勝久。字(あざな)は履道。通称は杢。別号に講武堂。著作に「倭漢武家名数」「新刃銘尽(あらみめいづくし)」など。
