...Glands are divided into several types according to the shape of the glandular body and the state of branching of the ducts. That is, glands with a tubular shape are called tubular glands, those with a sac-like shape are called alveolar glands, those with branched glands are called branched glands, and those without branching are called unbranched glands. Also, those with branched ducts are called compound glands, and those without branching are called simple glands.
