A mountain with withered and fallen leaves that looks lonely. *Shokanwara (1403) Fifteen Poems on Mountain Living: Zen Moon Rhyme "Winter mountains are lonely, few tea people, Shuzhu is deep, the leopard cries with gratitude" [Du Mu - Mountain-walking poem] [2] A Chinese poet-monk of the Tang Dynasty. He studied under Zen Master Fenggan of the Guoqing Temple on Mount Tiantai. He was deeply versed in Buddhist philosophy and was considered to be the incarnation of Manjusri Bodhisattva. His poems are called "Winter Mountain Poems" and there is a collection of "Winter Mountain Poems." He is often used as a subject for paintings, along with his friend Jittoku . [1] 〘名〙 冬の山。草木の葉が枯れ落ち、ものさびしげに見える山。※蕉堅藁(1403)山居十五首次禅月韻「寒山寂々茶人少、脩竹冥々謝豹啼」 〔杜牧‐山行詩〕[2] 中国、唐代の詩僧。天台山国清寺の豊干(ぶかん)禅師に師事。深く仏教の哲理に通じ、文殊菩薩の化身とされた。その詩を寒山詩といい、「寒山詩集」がある。友人の拾得(じっとく)と一緒に画題とされる。生没年不詳。
