Chinese Praise - Kansan

A type of Buddhist music called chanting. The lyrics are praising the Buddha and other deities, and are written in Chinese with seven or five lines or a series of lines, with each character being accompanied by a long melody. 仏教音楽の声明 (しょうみょう) の曲種。歌詞は仏や諸尊を賛美する内容で，漢語の七言 (または五言) 四句，あるいはその連鎖で成る詩形をもち，歌詞1字に長い旋律がつけられている。梵語訳の讃を「梵讃」と称する。
