Novels based on the Kuroda Incident appeared in the form of documentary stories, and as they were told by lecturers, their content became richer. Examples include the Hakozaki Bunko (30 volumes), which was compiled in the late 18th or early 19th century, and the Kan'ei Hakozaki Bunko (50 volumes), which was compiled in the late Edo period. They also came to form a part of the Kabuki family.
