This calendar was published by the Kawai family, which still exists in Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The Kawai family's ancestors are said to date back to the 8th century.

...This calendar was distributed by the Kawai family in Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The Kawai family came down to Mishima from Yamashiro Province around the end of the 8th century, and their descendants distributed the calendar for generations.
