Caribbean Common Market

...Due to the diverse conditions of the member countries, progress in integration has been slow. Furthermore, the Caribbean Free Trade Association was established by the English-speaking Caribbean countries in 1968, and was reorganized as the Caribbean Community Common Market in 1973. These economic integration efforts achieved considerable results in the 1960s, but have tended to stagnate since the 1970s, and the impact of the oil crisis since 1973 has been great. As a solution to this situation, there has been a demand for the expansion of intra-regional cooperation.
