A former town in Minamikawachi County, central Osaka Prefecture. The Hanwa Expressway runs through the town. Rice and vegetable cultivation is the norm, but steel and metal factories have been established and the town is rapidly urbanizing. The Osaka Wood Industrial Park is located in the Habikino Hills in the south. Incorporated into Sakai City in February 2005. Area: 13.20 km2 . Population: 38,361 (2003).
