Died December 25, 1683. Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire in Belgrade (in office 1676-83). Son-in-law of Köprülü Mehmed Pasha. After serving as governor and Minister of the Navy, he became Grand Vizier at the age of 34. He declared war on Austria and besieged Vienna (July 17, 1683 - September 12, 1683), but was defeated (→ Siege of Vienna), and was executed for mismanagement.
