A member of the imperial family. Descended from Prince Asahiko, the son of Prince Sadayoshi Fushimi. The prince first entered Nanto Ichijo-in Temple and was called Prince Son'o Hoshinno, and later moved to Awata Shoren-in Temple and was called Son'yu. In Bunkyu 3 ( 1863 ), he was called Nakagawa-no-miya, the following year he changed his name to Kayo-no-miya, and in Meiji 8 ( 1875 ) he was called Kuni-no-miya . Later, Prince Asahiko's second son, Prince Kuninori, took the name Kayo-no-miya in Meiji 25 ( 1892 ), and became independent in Meiji 33. After the war, he left the imperial family and took the name Kayo. 皇族の一家。伏見宮貞敬親王の御子朝彦親王より出た。親王は初め南都一乗院に入り尊応法親王といい、のち粟田青蓮院に移って尊融と称した。文久三年(一八六三)中川宮と称し、翌年賀陽宮と改め、さらに明治八年(一八七五)久邇宮(くにのみや)と改めた。そののち、朝彦親王の第二王子邦憲王は、明治二五年(一八九二)賀陽宮を称し、同三三年独立した。戦後、皇籍離脱により賀陽氏を名乗る。
