In 1943, the Tokyo Used Book Dealers Association established the book rental control guidelines and recruited people who wanted to work as a part-timer, and 639 people applied. At the end of World War II, writers such as Kume Masao and Takami Jun brought their own books together to create the book rental store Kamakura Bunko, which attracted attention. After the war, the Roman Bunko in Kobe successfully changed its previous deposit system to a credit system (membership system), and this spread to surrounding businesses. ...
