Military education was imposed as a regular curriculum on students in secondary schools and above, and on students in youth training institutes. In Japan, active-duty officers were assigned to schools and universities from junior high school onwards in April 1925 to provide military training to students, and this continued until the end of World War II in 1945. This was aimed at providing relief to officers who had lost their jobs due to disarmament, and at the same time militarizing education. In the United States, Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) is still conducted at universities for students who wish to receive reserve officer training. アメリカでは現在も,大学で学生の希望者に対して予備将校教練 ROTC(Reserve Officers' Training Corps)が行われている。
