A collection set up in each classroom in a school, primarily an elementary school. These libraries originated from books brought in by students and teachers, or purchased with class fees, but materials are often stocked through group loans from public libraries and school libraries, and now they tend to function as branches of school libraries. They are particularly useful as an introduction to library use for lower grade elementary school students. They are run by the students' independent activities under the guidance of their homeroom teacher.
