Genpachi Katsui
1778-1828 A Kabuki composer from the late Edo period.
Born in 1772. Apprentice to the first Katsu Tawarazo (later the 4th Tsuruya Nanboku). Became a leading actor in 1822 and a leading actor in 1825. Died on August 21, 1828, at the age of 51. Born in Urawa, Musashi. His real name was Katsuura Shuzo. His previous name was Katsui Genpachi. His works include "Kinpusen Yosooi Genji." He wrote the lyrics for the Nagauta "Fujimusume."
