Katada Manor

...It is confirmed that in the latter half of the 11th century it became the kitchen of Shimogamo-sha (Kamomioya-jinja) in Kyoto, but it is unclear what happened before that. By the end of the Heian period, it had become a manor of Enryaku-ji Temple under the name Katata-sho, and in 1227 (Karoku 3), Sasaki Nobutsuna was given the position of land steward of Katata-sho by the shogunate as a reward for his participation in the Jōkyū War. This suggests that at the beginning of the Kamakura period, the position was divided into two: land steward and lord (Azuma Kagami). However, as the control of Enryaku-ji Temple strengthened after this, the land steward position seems to have lost its practical meaning, and it disappears from historical records. ...
