What Daifuku

…A Chinese poet of the Ming Dynasty. His pen name was Zhongmo and he was known as Dafu. He was from Xinyang, Henan. In 1502 (15th year of Hongzhi), he became a Jinshi at the age of 20, and served as a secretary of the Central Secretariat, a bureaucrat, and a deputy envoy to study in Shaanxi. He was counted among the Seven Former Sons (Seven Sons) along with Li Mengyang, and advocated the use of classical literature. Around 1511 (6th year of Zhengde), he criticized Li Mengyang's excessively imitational style of writing, and advocated for fresh and original literature. The Bright Moon Chapter is an example of this, in which he rejected the heavy-feeling terminology of Li Mengyang's literature, mixed in the semi-couplet style, made use of couplets, and attempted an arrangement of rhythms similar to the modern style, breaking new ground in the form of rhythmic classical poetry. …

…中国，明代の詩人。字は仲黙，大復と号した。河南信陽の人。1502年(弘治15)20歳で進士となり，中書舎人，吏部員外郎，陝西提学副使を歴任。李夢陽（りぼうよう）らと〈前七子〉(七子)の一人に数えられ，古文辞を唱導した。1511年(正徳6)ごろ李夢陽の模擬に過ぎる作風を批判し，清新な独創の文学を主張した。〈明月篇〉はそれを示す一例であり，李夢陽の文学における重くるしい感じの用語を排し，蟬聯体をまじえ対句を生かし，今体に近い平仄（ひようそく）の配列を試みて，リズム感のある古詩として新生面を開いた。…
