...The crabeater seal, Ross seal, and Weddell seal are all large, growing to over 2 meters. Smaller species are found in limited areas, with the smallest species being the landlocked Baikal ringed seal and Caspian ringed seal, which are 1.2 to 1.3 meters long and weigh 50 to 60 kg. There are 14 species in the Northern Hemisphere and 5 species in the Southern Hemisphere, of which 12 live in sea ice areas and 7 live on land.
