Kawage [town] - Kawage
An old town located in the center of the Ise Plain in Aki-gun, Mie Prefecture, facing Ise Bay. In addition to rice, it produces vegetables and fruit. Coastal fishing is practiced, and crab, shrimp, and other processed products are also thriving. The Kintetsu Nagoya Line and the Ise Railway run through the town. In January 2006, it was incorporated into Tsu City along with Hisai City, Geino Town, Ano Town, Misato Village in Aki-gun, Ichishi Town, Karasu Town, Hakusan Town, and Misugi Village in Ichishi-gun. 18.79 km2 . Population: 17,640 (2003).
