〘名〙奈良の春日大社に参詣すること。特に藤原氏の氏長者(うじのちょうじゃ)が詣でること。※宇津保（970‐999頃）春日詣「伏し沈み、病になりてありしを、殿のかすがまうでに、辛うじて起きあがりたりしに」[語誌](1)春日大社は藤原氏の氏神であり、藤原氏の氏長者がたびたび参詣した。参詣は威儀を正し、華美を極めたもので、「中右記」には、嘉承元年（一一〇六）一二月一六日に忠実が参詣した模様が詳細に記録されている。
(2)文学の舞台としては、「宇津保物語‐春日詣」で、源正頼が母方が藤原氏である縁で、子息・婿たちを伴って春日大社に参詣する場面を描く。
(3)「日本紀略」によると、永祚元年（九八九）一条天皇の春日大社行幸があるが、これ以後、行幸・御幸などもしばしばあった。
