...To the north of this confluence are the flat summits of Tarobei-daira and Kumonodaira, which are thought to be the remains of an elevated quasi-plain, one of the few in the mountain range. On the other hand, in the southern part, parallel to the Yari-Hotaka mountain range, the Jonen mountain range, which continues with Karasawayama (2,632m), Tsubakuro-dake (2,763m), Otensho-dake (2,922m), Jonen-dake (2,857m), and Choga-dake (2,664m) to the east, and the Kasa-Nuketo mountain range, which consists of Nukedo-dake (2,813m) and Kasaga-dake (2,898m), runs. Carving their way through these mountains are the Kurobe River, which flows north; the Katakai River, Hayatsuki River, Jōganji River, Kanakido River, and Gamata River on the west side of the range; and the Kashima River, which is the upper reaches of the Sai River, Kago River, Takase River, Nakabusa River, Karasu River, and Azusa River on the east side.
