River mouth bay

…the mouth of a river is an inlet to the ocean downstream of a river, where seawater and freshwater meet and mix under the influence of the tides. It is generally shaped like a long, narrow funnel, and can be open to the open ocean or partially closed by a sandbar at the outlet.
