"Elegant speech" - Gagōonjōkō

...Katsugo Dankakufu was written before 1803 (Kyowa 3), and harmonized the ideas of Motoori Norinaga and Fujitani Seisho, organizing conjugation into 1st to 8th ranks (later 7th ranks) and clarifying the connection to particles. Koso (Thoughts on Elegant Words and Their Sounds) was published in 1816 (Bunka 13), and explained that many words have onomatopoeic or mimetic origins, dividing them into four types.
