Inter-party negotiation meeting

...a standing committee in each of the House of Representatives and the House of Councilors of the Japanese Diet to handle matters related to the operation of the House and other matters. Its establishment is based on the Diet Law (Article 41) and its jurisdiction is stipulated in the House Rules (House of Representatives Rules, Article 92; House of Councilors Rules, Article 74), and it differs from the faction negotiation committees that existed for a similar purpose under customary law in each House during the Imperial Diet era. Both Houses are made up of 25 members, and their allocation to the various factions is based on the ratio of seats held.
