...A group of secretive nembutsu practitioners who used the faith of Shinshu as a pretext, and was widely practiced in the Edo period, especially in the Tohoku region. Some trace their origins to Shinran or Rennyo, while others are descended from Kyoto Kagiya, with the Kagiya school being the most common.
