Kyoto Conference of Scientists - KAGAKUSHAKYOU KAIGI

Japanese: 科学者京都会議 - かがくしゃきょうとかいぎ

As a Japanese version of the Pugwash Conferences, which originated with the Russell-Einstein Manifesto, this conference was organized by three doctors, Hideki Yukawa, Shinichiro Tomonaga, and Shoichi Sakata, and was held by a small group of humanities, social science, and natural science scientists to explore ways to move beyond the nuclear age and create an age of peace. The first conference was held in 1962.

ラッセル＝アインシュタイン声明に端を発するパグウォッシュ会議の国内版として，湯川秀樹，朝永振一郎，坂田昌一の3博士が呼びかけ人となって，小人数の人文・社会・自然科学者が，核の時代をこえて平和時代を創造する道を探るために開催した会議。第1回は 1962年に行われた。
