The Arts and Crafts Movement emerged in Britain in the second half of the 19th century. Its seeds can be seen as early as the 1830s, but it was not until the 1880s that it was recognized as a movement. After the Industrial Revolution in Britain, various schools and organizations were founded due to the need for design education as machine production increased. However, this did not result in the establishment of a new era style, and confusion was rather evident. For example, at the Great Exhibition in London in 1851, many of the mass-produced products exhibited had lost sight of their original function and purpose, and also showed a lack of artistic value.
