...Products of the National Porcelain Manufacture in Sèvres, a suburb west of Paris, France. The predecessor of the Sèvres manufactory was the Vincennes manufactory. In 1738, Orly de Fulby advised King Louis XV of the need for the state to fire porcelain, and the manufactory was opened with the building of a riding school in the Château de Vincennes, which was then in the suburbs of Paris, and a large amount of funding. At first, the manufactory was not able to fire porcelain, but in 1745, by employing skilled craftsmen, it succeeded in firing porcelain (soft). *Some of the terminology explanations that mention "Orly de Furby" are listed below.
