Dutch Bridge

...The fishing industry is dominated by small-scale coastal fishing, mainly line fishing, and the Hirado Strait is also famous for its ago (flying fish) fishing. Dried ago is a local specialty, along with Kawauchi kamaboko (fish cake) from Kawachiura. In the old Hirado town, there are the remains of Kameoka Castle, the remains of the Hirado Dutch Trading Post (history) where the stone walls of the former lighthouse known as Jyoto no Hana remain, and the stone arch bridge Saibashi (Dutch Bridge, Important Cultural Property) built in 1702 (Genroku 15). Kawauchiura, which was the outer port of Hirado Port, is also home to the remains of Japan's first sweet potato field.
