Offset Tone Arm

...It is sometimes abbreviated to arm. An offset tone arm is one in which the cartridge's movement path is an arc centered on the fulcrum of the tone arm, and is the most widely used. A special mechanism that moves the cartridge linearly in the radial direction of the record is called a linear tracking arm.
