A teahouse in Konchi-in, a subtemple of Nanzen-ji Temple in Kyoto City. The three-tatami-mat teahouse, said to have been designed by Kobori Enshu, has a nijiriguchi (a porch) that opens onto the veranda of the adjacent small study, and guests enter the teahouse from the garden through the veranda. Although it has the name "Yassou" (eight windows), it actually has six windows. Other eight-window teahouses include Hassoan (now in Sapporo) and Hassoken (Manshuin), which are said to have been designed to the tastes of Enshu.
