Obana rice porridge - Obanagayu
Long ago, in order to ward off epidemics at the Imperial Court, Hassaku orange Hassaku This is a type of porridge eaten on August 1st. It contains blackened, burnt pampas grass flower spikes. During the Edo period, it was also popular among the general public. Early Rice Match Sometimes blackened porridge and black sesame seeds were used.
