…The Oshizawa River flows out from the northeastern end and flows into Lake Hibara. In the mid-17th century, Oshio Heizaemon dug into the mountainside at Konuma Pass in the northwest, drawing water from it to develop Oguni Shinden at the western foot of Mount Oguni. The surrounding marshes are home to large colonies of Asian skunk cabbage, day lilies, and Iris amplexicaule, and are designated as natural monuments. …
