...Dogfighting is still practiced in India and Southeast Asian countries, so it can be considered a traditional form of gambling in the region. In the 17th and 18th centuries, dogfighting was popular in England, along with bearbaiting, a gambling game in which dogs were pitted against bears, and bullbaiting, a gambling game in which dogs were pitted against bulls. Today, dogfighting is rarely practiced in Europe and America, but Staffordshire terriers, bulldogs, Yankee terriers, and Tosas are used in dogfighting.
