In Hineno, Izumi Province, to obtain a notice prohibiting the stationing of military forces, two notices cost 200 hiki, but the tribute money to the 10 or so "naidan-no-hai" who worked to make it happen amounted to 2,000 hiki (Masamichi-ko Tabihikitsuki). The same was true in autonomous cities. In Oyamazaki, the prohibition of military stationing was obtained from various places through tribute money, and as a message of thanks, 50 bronze hiki to Asakura Yoshikage, 100 bronze hiki to Rokkaku Yoshisuke, and 200 to Hosokawa Harumoto were given (Rikyu Hachimangu Documents). These tribute money was also needed for the intermediaries, so the actual expenses were much greater than recorded.
