...There are many cultivars with a variety of flower colors and sizes, from white to crimson and purple. Other cultivars in the same genus include the large A. plantaginea Willd., which grows to about 30 cm in height, and the very small A. caespitosa Boiss., an alpine plant. It is used as a spring flower bed plant, and prefers sunny, well-drained soil.
