A deciduous shrub of the Ericaceae family (APG classification: Ericaceae), 1-2 meters tall. The leaves are alternate, obovate, 7-18 cm long, concave at the tip, and hairy at the margins. From July to August, scattered white flowers bloom downward. The corolla is tubular-bell shaped, about 2 cm long, shallowly divided into 5 lobes at the tip, and the pedicel is rich in glandular hairs. It is found in the mountains on the Sea of ​​Japan side of Honshu.
