The mountains that make up the central summits of the Kirishima volcanoes, such as Karakunidake, Onamiike (1,411 m), Shinmoedake (1,421 m), Nakadake (1,332 m), Ohachi (about 1,400 m), and Takachiho-no-mine (1,574 m), as well as the mountains of Imoriyama (846 m), Koshikidake (1,301 m), Hinamoridake (1,344 m), and Ohatayama (1,353 m), and the craters of Rokukannon-miike, Byakushi-ike, Fudo-ike, Ohata-ike, and Miike, were formed during this period.
