...A group of warriors from the Kamakura period. Their founder was Tokinaga, the second son of Adachi Morinaga, a close aide to Minamoto no Yoritomo. In the Azuma Kagami, the family name is written as Osone after Tokinaga's son Nagayasu. The family name is said to have originated in Osone Manor in Dewa Province, a territory under the Imperial Court. Bishamon-do, which was founded by Adachi Morinaga, still exists at Myogen-ji Temple in Kashiwakura, Yamagata City, located within Osone Manor, and it is said that the head priest of Bishamon-san Shinmyo-ji Temple has been a monk of the Adachi school for generations. It is likely that Morinaga was originally appointed as the land steward of Osone Manor by Yoritomo, and Tokinaga took the name Osone after receiving the transfer. ...

…鎌倉期の武士団。源頼朝の側近安達盛長の次男時長を始祖とする。《吾妻鏡》では，時長の子長泰から大曾禰氏の名称で表記。名字の地は後院領出羽国大曾禰荘といわれる。大曾禰荘内に位置する山形市柏倉の明源寺には，安達盛長の創建という毘沙門堂が現存し，また毘沙門山真妙寺も代々安達一門僧が住持であったという。おそらく頼朝が当初任命した大曾禰荘地頭は盛長であり，時長はその譲渡をうけてから大曾禰氏を名のったのであろう。…
