Aconite - Ezotorikabuto

A perennial plant of the Ranunculaceae family (APG classification: Ranunculaceae). The roots contain toxic alkaloids. The stems are about 1 meter tall and the leaves are trilobed. The flowers bloom in sparse panicles from August to September and are bluish-purple. The flower stalks are densely hairy all over. It is commonly found in the mountains and fields of Hokkaido except for eastern and southern Hokkaido. It grows in grasslands and marshes, has upright stems, glossy leaves, and a large inflorescence, and is sometimes called terihabushi to distinguish it from other species.

キンポウゲ科（APG分類：キンポウゲ科）の多年草。根に有毒なアルカロイドを含む。茎は高さ約1メートル、葉は3全裂。花は8～9月、まばらな円錐(えんすい)花序につき、青紫色。花柄には全体に屈毛が密生する。北海道東部と南部以外の北海道全域の山野に普通にみられる。草原や湿原に生え、茎が直立して葉に光沢があり、花序が巨大なものをテリハブシとよんで区別することもある。
