...The size of the town was recorded as 602 town houses in 1641, 1,383 town houses in 1843 (Tenpo 14), with a population of 5,097. It was recorded that there were one honjin (main inn), one wakihonjin (secondary inn), one wholesaler's shop, and 14 inns. When Ogaki Prefecture (July-November 1871) was established in the early Meiji period, it became the prefectural capital, and after the prefecture was absorbed into Gifu Prefecture, the Anpachi County Office and other facilities were established.
