Ouyang Xiu - Ouyang Xiu

Japanese: 欧陽脩 - おうようしゅう

A Chinese politician and scholar of the Song Dynasty. His pen name was Yongshu. His pen name was Zuiwong, later becoming a member of the Liuyi Jushi. His posthumous name was Wenzhong. He was from Luling . He served under the reigns of Renzong and Yingzong, and became a Hanlin scholar, eventually becoming Minister of War. During the reign of Shenzong, he opposed Wang Anshi's new laws and retired from his post. He excelled in poetry and prose, and was counted among the Eight Great Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties. His works include "New Book of Tang," "New History of the Five Dynasties," "The True Meaning of Mao's Poetry," and "Record of Returning to the Countryside." ( 1007-1072 )

中国宋代の政治家、学者。字(あざな)は永叔。号は酔翁、のち六一居士。諡(おくりな)は文忠。廬陵(ろりょう)の人。仁宗、英宗に仕え翰林学士となり、兵部尚書に進む。神宗のとき、王安石の新法に反対し、退官。詩文にすぐれ、唐宋八大家の一人に数えられた。著「新唐書」「新五代史」「毛詩本義」「帰田録」など。（一〇〇七‐七二）
