...It grows to a total length of 20cm. It has many local names, such as kasori in Osaka and Mie, kasoriuo in Lake Hamana, kasoriunagi in Wakayama, and naginata in Mito, all of which are due to the fact that its body is long and thin and flat, and resembles the blade of a razor. It is also called aburame in Kagoshima, nabekowashi in Hiroshima, catfish in Kochi, and kaccho in Shimonoseki.
