However, in Nara Buddhism, attempts were made to revive the precepts by Jitsuhan of Nakagawa-dera and Jokei of Kofuku-ji, and in the mid-Kamakura period, attempts were made to revive the precepts by Eison of Saidai-ji and Kakusho of Toshodai-ji, and receiving precepts became popular again.
