Endonucleases

Among the enzymes that break down nucleic acids, there are those that cut in the middle of the nucleotide chain. There are those that are specific to RNA, or to single or double strands of DNA. In contrast, enzymes that cut the nucleotide chain starting from the end are called exonucleases. [CAS 9055-11-2]
