〘 noun 〙 In the Middle Ages, a person in charge of pond water management at temples and other places. Water Diversion Magistrate (Bunsui Bugyo) . → Pond Guardian (Ikemori). ※Horyu-ji Temple monks are punished and hauled away - May 1545 (Tenbun 14) "At the Ushitora corner of the bank of Shikata Pond, _{there is} a foundation made by Mitsui Emon. While they are cutting into the bank, the pond magistrate (Chogei Eiga), the pond guardian Chosenbo, and others make _signs and build the original structure."
