①《Enterprise》 US Navy aircraft carrier. Yorktown-class aircraft carrier. Commissioned in May 1938. Participated in the Battle of Midway, the Battle of the South Pacific, and the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Supported the Battle of Iwo Jima and the Battle of Okinawa. Damaged by a Japanese kamikaze attack in May 1945, returned to the US for repairs and the end of the war. After the war, engaged in transporting demobilized soldiers. Struck in 1947. Nicknamed "Big E". ②《Enterprise》An aircraft carrier of the US Navy. It was laid down in 1958 as the world's first nuclear aircraft carrier. It was commissioned in November 1961. It participated in the naval blockade operation during the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Vietnam War, and the Iraq War. When it called at Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan in 1968 during the Vietnam War, anti-war and anti-nuclear activists protested the call on a large scale, and riot police were called in.
