①《Enterprise》 US Navy aircraft carrier. Yorktown-class aircraft carrier. Commissioned in May 1938. Participated in the Battle of Midway, the Battle of the South Pacific, and the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Supported the Battle of Iwo Jima and the Battle of Okinawa. Damaged by a Japanese kamikaze attack in May 1945, returned to the US for repairs and the end of the war. After the war, engaged in transporting demobilized soldiers. Struck in 1947. Nicknamed "Big E".
②《Enterprise》An aircraft carrier of the US Navy. It was laid down in 1958 as the world's first nuclear aircraft carrier. It was commissioned in November 1961. It participated in the naval blockade operation during the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Vietnam War, and the Iraq War. When it called at Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan in 1968 during the Vietnam War, anti-war and anti-nuclear activists protested the call on a large scale, and riot police were called in. It was decommissioned in 2012. It also has the same nickname as ①, "Big E".

Enterprise

One of the space shuttles, the manned space transport vehicle of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). NASA type name: OV-101. The first prototype of the Space Shuttle orbiter (the main body of the spacecraft). A test vehicle for gliding, it has not actually flown in space. Named in 1976. Named after the spacecraft that appears in the American science fiction television series "Star Trek". First flight was in 1977.

Enterprise

An interstellar spaceship that appears in the American science fiction television drama and film series "Star Trek." It is the main ship of the series. It consists of a disk-shaped main hull, a spindle-shaped engine, and two cylindrical propulsion units. Various classes of Enterprises with different scales and performance appear in the television series and theatrical versions.

①《Enterprise》アメリカ海軍の航空母艦。ヨークタウン級航空母艦。1938年5月就役。ミッドウェー海戦、南太平洋海戦、レイテ沖海戦などに参加。硫黄島戦・沖縄戦を支援。1945年5月、日本の特攻機突入により損傷、修理のためアメリカに戻り終戦を迎える。戦後は復員兵輸送に従事。1947年除籍。愛称「ビッグE」。
②《Enterprise》アメリカ海軍の航空母艦。世界初の原子力空母として1958年に起工。1961年11月就役。キューバ危機における海上封鎖作戦、ベトナム戦争、イラク戦争などに参加。ベトナム戦争中の1968年、日本の長崎県佐世保に寄港した際には、反戦・反核活動家らによる大規模な寄港反対運動が起こり、機動隊も出動する事態となった。2012年退役。愛称も①と同じ「ビッグE」。

エンタープライズ

米国航空宇宙局（NASA）の有人宇宙輸送機、スペースシャトルの機体のひとつ。NASA型名：OV-101。スペースシャトルのオービタ（宇宙船本体部分）の試作1号機。滑空用の試験機で、実際の宇宙飛行は行なっていない。1976年命名。アメリカのSFテレビドラマシリーズ「スタートレック」に登場する宇宙船の名称にちなむ。初飛行は1977年。
